Adopt-A-Family’s goal is to spread holiday cheer to those families who find the season especially difficult while coping with a child diagnosed with cancer or having recently lost a child to cancer.
Candlelighters Adopt-A-Family began in 1992 serving 21 families. Last year, our generous sponsors adopted over 230 families – and 1,100 family members enjoyed a brighter holiday season. We ask you to help us embrace our families with children with cancer and ease the holiday season for those families facing the difficult diagnosis of cancer.
This heartwarming program offers the Sponsors the opportunity to personally interact with the families. This contact is especially important for both families in celebrating the true meaning of the holidays. Our Adopt-A-Family program serves those families in not only financial need, but those families in emotional need. Our program recognizes that the diagnosis of childhood cancer affects the entire family. Adopt-A-Family offers help and hope in the holiday season.
